Pro Drums 70s Retro Funk brings the unmistakable groove and character of 1970s funk straight into your productions. With more than 14,500 live-played acoustic drum loops, this collection is all about the tight pocket, syncopated rhythms, crisp hi-hat work, ghost notes, punchy backbeats and dynamic interplay that defined funk drumming throughout the decade. At the heart of the collection are two completely different drum setups, each exploring a different side of the classic 70s sound. Rather than simply recording the same kit twice, both setups feature their own snare and cymbal configurations and were captured with different microphone setups and recording approaches, giving each kit its own distinct sonic identity.
Setup 1 delivers a tighter, more focused and articulate character – perfect for dry, precise funk grooves where every kick, snare and hi-hat detail needs to cut through.
Setup 2 offers a deeper and broader alternative, centered around a massive 14"x8" aluminum snare and an entirely different cymbal selection. The result is a bigger, weightier and more colorful drum sound with a character all its own.
Together, the two setups cover a wide spectrum of vintage-inspired funk drums – from lean, tight and controlled grooves to deeper, dirtier and more powerful rhythms. Every performance was played live, preserving the natural dynamics, timing and interaction of a real drummer. Subtle variations, accents, ghost notes and changes in velocity create the kind of movement and feel that programmed drums simply cannot reproduce. The Structure
Each BPM folder is loaded with a wide variety of grooves and fills, giving you everything you need to create anything from a single drum part to a complete song arrangement.
Every performance includes a mixed stereo drum loop, premixed drum groups, as well as all individual multitrack recordings in a dry version. This gives you complete control over every aspect of the drum sound while also providing ready-to-use mixes whenever you want to work fast.

Loops from the same performance are designed to work seamlessly together, so grooves and fills can easily be combined to build complete drum arrangements. You can also mix and match loops from different performances to create entirely new combinations and rhythms.
